Professorship for Media Production & Digital Content Systems (m/f/d)

Qualifications

A master‘s degree in economics, along with a relevant doctorate and academic publications
meeting the recruitment criteria outlined in Section 36 of the North Rhine-Westphalia: § 36 Higher Education Act.
A Ph.D. qualification in media studies, digital communication, or a related field
At least five years of professional experience in social media management,
media production, digital marketing, or related industries (including a
minimum of three years outside academia)
Expertise in:

o Social media strategies and digital marketing
o Media production technologies (video, image, sound)
o Content management systems & platform technologies
o Digital media processes, AI-driven content, and emerging innovations
(AR, VR, etc.)
A passion for teaching, mentoring, and student engagement
Excellent communication skills in English (German proficiency is a plus but not
required)
Understand online community dynamics, fostering maximum social interaction, collaboration,
exchange, and feedback opportunities for students.
Embrace teamwork and align actions with the university’s long-term objectives.
Contribute to the university’s ongoing success through dedication and innovation.
Excellent written and spoken English skills
Ability to teach in both our German and English Bachelor programs

Professorship for Media Production & Digital Content Systems (m/f/d)

What you’ll be doing:

Leading the implementation of both asynchronous and synchronous online courses, as
well as organizing face-to-face events
Designing and delivering engaging courses (online & on-campus) in media
production, content systems, and related fields
Supervising student projects, theses, and independent studies
Developing and assessing examinations and coursework
Enhancing course content with innovative teaching methodologies
Conducting research and publishing in relevant fields
Building and maintaining professional networks and partnerships
Engaging in research and publication activities relevant to your field of representation
Cultivating and nurturing collaborative networks and partnerships
