At our university, we get to the bottom of all these questions in the Psychology degree program and explain to you what is important.

What is psychology about?

Psychology is the scientific study and analysis of human behavior and experience. It examines the processes of perception, thinking, emotions, motivation and interpersonal relationships. Sounds dry and boring? It is not at all at our university! Because psychology …:

  • analyzes how people perceive and interpret their environment.
  • deals with thought processes, including problem solving, memory, decision making and language.
  • researches the emergence, forms of expression and regulation of emotions.
  • examines what drives and motivates people, be it through inner needs or external incentives.
  • deals with the interaction between people and the influences of social environments.
  • deals with the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mental disorders and problems.
  • analyzes the behavior of people in the workplace and in organizations in order to promote efficiency and satisfaction.

Your Psychology degree at INU

Are you ready to understand human behavior? With a distance learning course in psychology, you can get one step closer to your dream job. Study flexibly full-time at home. At the distance learning university INU, you have the opportunity to start your studies directly after graduating from high school and combine your Bachelor’s degree in psychology with a wide range of specializations, including clinical psychology, health psychology and market, advertising and media psychology.

And what about recognition? Our degree program follows the recommendations of the German Society for Psychology (DGPs) and offers you the freedom to study psychology full-time with us,
without a Numerus Clausus or wait semesters being in the way. Your study place is open to you

You determine your studies

At the beginning there is the “Introductory project for self-organized learning”, which prepares you perfectly for your studies. Here you will learn the secrets of optimal study organization with sufficient knowledge of digital communication. How to study online at a distance learning university .

Our psychology degree program has the following content for you:

  • Basic subjects such as general psychology, biological psychology and developmental psychology form the basis for the later adventures in the application modules.
  • Application modules, from diagnostic procedures to educational psychology, will get you on track.
  • Choose two specializations – be it clinical psychology, health psychology or market, advertising and media psychology – and decide in which subject area you want to become a legend. And if that’s not enough, you can also choose a specialization from another degree course. For us, flexibility is not just a word, but a lifestyle.
  • Systemic coaching, communication psychology and other cool topics are waiting to be explored by you.
  • You can apply your knowledge in internships and lessons with test subjects, get a taste of everyday working life and even take part in a few scientific experiments.
  • Things get serious in the last semester: the Bachelor’s thesis is due. Your opportunity to show off all your accumulated knowledge.

After your digital studies at the INU, you can do this and much more

  • You understand the basic principles of psychology and processes such as perception, attention, learning and memory.
  • You know the biological basis of behavior and mental processes, including neuroscience, and can analyze the psychological development of a person from childhood to old age
  • You research the influence of social factors on behavior and interaction between individuals, especially in the workplace and in organizations
  • You have an insight into the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mental disorders and emotional problems and are familiar with current research methods, diagnostics and test procedures
  • You can apply psychological principles in different areas such as education, business and sport

With your freshly completed Bachelor’s degree, you can take the next step andstart a Master’s degree in psychology and qualify as a psychologist. However, it is not possible to qualify as a licensed psychotherapist.

Or you can get started straight away with your degree! The INU team is there to help you find a career if you want to get started right away. Many exciting paths are open to you.

Further training - on to a Master's degree!

Have you completed your Bachelor’s degree and don’t want to start working straight away, but want to go even higher? A consecutive Master’s degree in psychology enables you to gain further qualifications and obtain the title of psychologist. Please note, however, that a license to practice as a psychotherapist or physiotherapist is not possible with this degree. Nevertheless, there are numerous interesting career paths open to you.

Psychological consulting in organizational development

For those who enjoyed organizational psychology the most, a special challenge awaits. In the world of organizational development , you are the architect of corporate strategies, the designer of change processes and the personal coach for managers. You also maintain an overview of how digitalization affects corporate values.

Psychological counseling in the field of health psychology and educational psychology

For many, a career in health psychology is a step in the right direction. As a psychologist, the aim here is to show people ways in which they can improve their lives by changing their behavior. You develop programs to prevent disorders, for example stress management, or to eliminate existing disorders such as nutritional advice. In companies, you also create programs for preventive healthcare and modern workplace design.
